Amy was a a pleasure to style, she had a clear idea of what she wanted to achieve with her hair. When we prepped the hair we worked lots of texture  into her hair. I blow dried the Neal & Wolf Elevate Volume Lotion into the hair to begin with. I then went on to use BaByliss Pro Ceramic Tongs to create movement in the hair. I worked the Tony & Guy casual sculpting powder into the root area- this allows oodles of body and texture. I then went on to dress the hair in to shape.

Save The Date Wedding Show

At a Wedding Event with a Difference, you can expect fantastic suppliers from across the region, interactive demonstrations, an incredible catwalk show and lots of fabulous goodies! Held in Nottingham in April, this uber stylish and highly unique wedding event with a difference is the place to be for any brides and grooms to be out there planning their big day!

On the morning of the Save The Date Wedding Show its great to see the space transform as all the suppliers arrive. Myself, I can be found tucked away backstage preparing all the models ready for the show. 6 Models in 2hours, having a good assistant on hand is a must. Julian from Jazz Hair was my right hand man that morning! I Couldn’t have done it with out him – True Legend!

As the Save The Date Wedding Show saw the models wearing 5 dresses each, it gave us complete flexibility on the hair style. Armed with mood boards we set to work on creating some simple, romantic, timeless styles.

With the hair we worked with lots of texture and movement. Inspiration from icon figures like Audrey Hepburn also inspiration from the catwalk show such as Anna Sui’s – Dressing the curls loose and laid-back , a classic summer style.

About Harts Hotel

Hart’s Hotel opened in 2003, a contemporary boutique property with 32 bedrooms. Above the restaurant is Hart’s Upstairs, Nottingham’s favourite meeting point for private parties, weddings and business meetings. Over the past few years I have work at Harts Hotel and it’s always a great start to any brides wedding day.

Coffee fix done, I got down to blow drying Sian’s hair with the wonderful Neal & Wolf Volumising Lotion. With her hair prepped and cooling I handed her over to the wonderful Mandy Rigby, a talented and professional make-up artist.  Also with me at Harts Hotel was one UK’s most exclusive documentary wedding photographers and good friend Crash Taylor. Alongside Crash at Harts Hotel was his Cinematographer, Richard Winter.

With Sian’s hair we created a soft romantic shape, taken all up, off centre. The finishing touch, the must have 2012 bridal hair trend… the Accessory!

Hanging in the corner of the room at Harts Hotel was a ruddy stunning gown by Sassi Holford. I think you will agree the dress is breath taking!

A stunning Classic Blue Daimler arrived at Harts Hotel from award winning Dennisson Classic Cars picked Sian and her father up and drove them in style to the ceremony.

• Allow plenty of time before your wedding day to select a stylist. The ideal amount of time is about 6 months to a year. If there’s someone you must have, book them as soon as you know your date.
• Ask around for referrals. Who has done your friend’s wedding hair? Ask family members you trust, someone should be able to guide you towards at least one reliable and talented hairstylist.
• Collect a list of four or five hairstylists and their details when choosing a wedding hair stylist, this will helps you stay organized. Gather quotes and view their portfolios. Check out one or more of the hairstylists on your list.
